With a background in family medicine, urgent care and sports medicine, Dr. Okay has served as clinical director of Ortho On-Call since its inception in 2010. Dr. Okay received his BS in Biochemistry at Mount St. Mary’s University in 1993. After a year working in a commercial lab and further graduate study in biochemistry, he attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 1998. He completed his residency in family medicine at East Carolina University and became board certified in 2001. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Wake Forest University for sports medicine and went on to practice urgent care medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Dr. Okay joined the faculty of the St. Francis Family Medicine Residency program in Midlothian in 2007. There, his duties included providing medical coverage for a local high school football team and VCU’s women’s soccer and basketball teams. In 2010, he joined Advanced Orthopaedics to help create Ortho On-Call.
